Pirate and Prisoner

Finally finished. This is my entry for the good girl vs. bad girl contest [link] held by *PersephoneStock and *intergalacticstock. The 'bad' girl/pirate has captured the 'good' girl, probably for ransom, plus some other booty.

This is a digital painting done with Photoshop LE and a Wacom Graphire4 tablet. It took many, many hours. I had more I'd planned to add, but the deadline was approaching and I'd spent way too long on it as it was. On this piece, I did the background and most of the foreground first, because I'm terrible at backgrounds and if I was going to rush something, I didn't want it to be something I wasn't very good at to begin with. I also did a hatless version but the hat is sorta more piratey.

As always, critique and comments are welcome, though since the contest ends the 31st, I doubt I can make any major changes before the contest.
